18.8 down.... will I ever make goal?

The scale moved again today, and I am down 18.8 total. This is a slow loss, but that is a good thing, right? Been sticking to basics for food.... Need to drink more water as well.

Down 17..... slow and steady

My weight loss would have frustrated me years back, but I am learning that slow and steady is good.  I am also finding that on the days when I drink at least 3 quarts of water,my weight loss is better than if I stick to 2 quarts or less. I am really anxious to get to 20 pounds lost so I will feel more comfortable in getting back on my roller skates. I am hoping to hit that number by the end of next week.

Happy water drinking!

Eleven Days In..... Simon Says?

11.2 pounds lost so far!  We are all having good success.... J is down I think by like 7 pounds, and with only 20 to lose, it is super noticeable already.  I am not sure how well B is doing because she has been sick (the sickness is going around like wild fires), and J2 is kicking ass as well - experimenting with different recipes, and scheduling daily walks and always being encouraging.

I still hate the oat bran pancakes and haven't eaten them in several days.  Okay, a week.  But, I am paying for it as I have not pooed in a while.  I bought some low fat ricotta and will try that in the recipe instead of yogurt.  Maybe I will like that better?

Day Ummmm.... Day 9

Woke up to the start of day 9 to find that I am down 9.8 pounds!!  That is an awesome number, and it puts me at like a 12% or so completion rate.  I really should find one of those charts online that can calculate the percentage done and percentage to go.  Let's be realistic.... having 88% to go sounds a whole lot better than 100%.

I did have a grilled burger yesterday with sauteed veggies.  It was quite a bit greasier than anything I have been eating lately, and I really didn't like it very much.  Although the veggies were divine!

Getting ready to start my day with some scrambled eggs (again).  Still can't bring myself to make and eat that oat bran pancake although I really need to start getting some of that into my daily diet.  Maybe with dinner or something....

Attack of the Killer Proteins!

So I lost another 1.4 so a total so far of 7 pounds lost.  Tomorrow morning I will have a grand total for the attack phase.  Today I had some low sodium bacon for breakfast, followed by some chicken sausage with basil and leftover chicken breast.  Not sure what is for dinner tonight, but I will find something good.  I am looking forward to some veggies soon.  Need to head to the grocery store in the morning to get in a bit of shopping.

On a plus note - heading out for a bachelorette party tonight.  Should be fun... I am not much of a drinker, so I am not worried about that.  Need to just make sure I don't snack on some crap protein!  Stay focused!!!

Almost Done with Attack

Tomorrow is the last day of the attack phase.  I have stuck to it 100%, and I am down another pound, making the total so far -5.6 pounds.  Pretty awesome, and I am ahead of schedule.  According to the true weight test, I was supposed to lose 4.99 pounds with the attack phase.

I am excited to see what my grand total weight Saturday morning will be for this phase.

I have a pretty busy weekend planned.  Tomorrow night I have a bachelorette party - good thing I am not much of a drinker.  Saturday I have to help set up for a neighborhood festival, set up and run a baby shower, and then Sunday is my day of rest.  Nails, family, and then run roller derby practice.   I might try to get some laundry and house cleaning done in there somewhere.

The Day Before Day Four

I stayed home from work today as I work up feeling sick.  Not related to Dukan at all, just cramps and tired.  I called in and told J to pass that along to our boss for me and I went back to bed.  When I woke up again, I weighed myself.  Day Two found me -2.6 and today, I was down another 2, for a total 3 day loss of -4.6 for those of you a little weak in the math area :)

I have been on track today - I made some chicken sausage and egg for a late brunch, and then low sodium bacon for a snack.  I have been drinking mostly diet coke and non fat milk though so far, so it is time to switch to ice water.

Planning on having some grilled pork tenderloin for dinner, with a side of ice water.

Filet My Friend

Stopped at Costco and bought some filet mignon. So much more yummy than the fat free cream cheese :-)

I Don't Like Fat Free Cream Cheese

Maybe I am being a baby and not appreciating the whole flavor of the smoked turkey, but I am having a really rough time pretending to enjoy the afternoon snack of smoked turkey and fat free cream cheese. Bleh!

Day 1....

I went shopping late last night to get ready for day numero uno.  I didn't really fill my shopping cart the way I had expected to.  I am just starting this journey out simply, until I get the hang of it.  I woke up this morning needing my coffee and french vanilla creamer.  But I skipped it and went for a glass of ice water.  Here was my eating for day 1:
Breakfast:
sweet oat bran pancake
few slices of already cooked low sodium bacon
Lunch:
3 low fat kosher hot dogs
Snack:
Smoked turkey breast with fat free cream cheese
Dinner:
chicken sausage with mustard dipping sauce

Throw in a bunch more water and a few diet cokes, and that rounds out my day.  I had an ortho appointment for my knee today and had to get a shot, so not sure that I can do my walking tomorrow, but I feel good.  Hoping to another successful day tomorrow on day two.  Not sure I can refrain from weighing myself in the morning :)

T-Minus Three Days

My lovely friend B at work turned me on to a diet called the Dukan Diet.  I had never heard of this until we went out to lunch to discuss..... yes, over steaming plates of lovely pasta with chicken and white sauce, we discussed a this French diet I had never heard of.  One my best friends, J, joined us as well to hear all about this diet we would be going on.
B came prepared with a hard backed book and excitement.  She hadn't yet read the entire book, but had read enough to give us an overview of the diet and eating plan, and to tell us we needed to go and figure out what our true weight is on http://www.dukandiet.com.  After lunch J and I rushed back to figure out what the heck that meant.
After reading over the information and putting in my stats, I would be on the Attack phase for 5 days, Cruise phase for 275 days, and the Consolidation phase for 393 days.  Ahhhhh the consolidation phase,  That is my nemesis.  While I can do a diet and stick to it every time, and be highly successful, it is the end of the diet and going back to regular eating that kills me each and every time. I do believe though, with more accountability, and with the realization that I am 37 and severely overweight that maybe it is time for me to put on my big girl pants and start staying focused on the big picture.  My life.
